Clash of Clans for PC - Free Download

Clash of Clans is a very popular mobile game which is officially available for Apple devices at the iTunes store and for Android devices at the Google Play Store. To play Clash of Clans in a PC, an Android emulator such as Andy or BlueStacks is required. After installing an Android emulator on a desktop or laptop, the mobile operating system can be run within Windows OS. Then from the Google Play Store, the official Clash of Clans game can be installed in a PC.

This epic strategy combat game runs smoothly within a supported Android Emulator installed in a PC. It is fun in a touch screen laptop but the game play is easily accessible by using just a mouse. For the choice of Android Emulators, there are various options out there. This tutorial deals with installing either Andy or BlueStacks in a PC to run Clash of Clans.

Option I: Andy the Android Emulator

Andy is a popular and fully built Android Emulator that is able to run apps from the Google Play Store. It allows you to play great Android games and use awesome apps in a big screen laptop or desktop. It even allows your phone to be used as a remote control when playing games. This is the best choice for playing Android games in a PC.

Phase 1: Download and Install

  • Browse to where the file is downloaded and open the installer file: Andy_Android_Emulator_v43_1.exe. [500 KB+]
  • Give Andy Setup the permission it needs to continue.
  • Click Next and I Agree to start the basic software installation.

Andy OS Setup process will download and install the emulator as well as Oracle VM VirtualBox. Expect a lot of files to be copied. At the end, a reboot is required to finish the installation.

Phase 2: Run and Configure

Click on the Start Andy shortcut in the desktop, from the start menu or from the taskbar. The emulator will run a virtual machine in your system and Android will boot inside it. Now, follow these steps:

  • Tap on Play Store, search for and install Clash of Clans.
  • Run the app and play this game in your Windows PC.

Option II: BlueStacks

BlueStacks is a very popular Android app player. It is essentially an Android emulator for the PC. It is a great one but it comes pre-packed with a lot of apps. It is also filled with advertisements that encourage you to install more apps.

Phase 1: Download and Install

  • Visit to download the Android Emulator [13.5 MB].
  • Browse to Downloads and open the installer file called BlueStacks-Thininstaller.exe.
  • Give it the permission that it requires to continue.
  • Click Continue on the install screen and the process starts immediately.

Phase 2: Run and Configure

After basic installation, the software will open and start downloading game data. This stage downloads and installs all the apps that come with BlueStacks. It takes some time because the app player comes bundled with a large number of pre-installed apps.

After the app initializes:

  • Click on search and type Clash of Clans.
  • You will have to follow through a one-time process to:
    • Enable AppStore and Enable App Sync—by adding your Google account for the very first time. It’s the same process as setting up a new smartphone or tablet.
  • Install Clash of Clans from the Play Store.
